About Trotts Gardens

Groups and Free Independent Travellers are welcome. Bookings are essential for groups. Morning and afternoon tea, lunches as well as guided tours are available upon request for groups. ​Feel free to bring a picnic - there are many spots to enjoy in the garden. Toilet facilities are available. The garden is accessible for prams and wheelchairs in most areas.

The creation of Trott's Garden has been a journey of dedication and imagination, as over the years it has been transformed from a bare paddock into the extraordinary contemporary garden it is today.  


Trott's Garden offers a stunning venue  for wedding ceremonies and receptions - all year round. Combining picturesque garden landscapes with our amazing marquee, which can seat up to 250 people, you can have your whole day in this beautiful paradise. 


·     You can have your ceremony in the gorgeous historic chapel or pick a spot in the garden - the choice is yours. 

·     Striking panoramas provide the perfect backdrop to your wedding photographs, whilst your guests will enjoy wandering the grounds and soaking up the surroundings.

·      Your wedding reception is held in the marque, which can accommodate large, lavish occasions as well as smaller, intimate celebrations. 

·     You are welcome to bring your own caterer and drinks - ensuring your guests and budget are well served.

Monday - Friday 10.00am - 2pm. Weekends by appointment only



Located only one hours south of Christchurch - Just as you come into Ashburton from the North on SH1, turn right onto Racecourse Road, and travel 3.7km and you will find the gateway on your left.

If traveling from the South you will Turn left onto Racecourse Road just before you exit the town boundary.
